Plantation Hale Resort in Kapaa

Plantation Hale resort condominiums are conveniently located on Kauai's Coconut Coast in Kapaa.  A broad empty field separates the resort from the ocean and there are distant ocean views which should remain until the field is developed.  A paved walkway leads from Plantation Hale across the field and to the beach.  It's adjacent to Coconut Marketplace which has many shops and restaurants.

There are 160 individually-owned units in ten 2-story buildings.  Each unit consists of a living room with lanai, full kitchen, bedroom with lanai, and full bath.  Living area for all but one is 633 sq. ft.  Each building is "hotel-style" with units to the left & right off long hallways.  Wireless internet is available in the units and throughout the resort.

Plantation Hale was built in 1972 and is currently (as of 2012) managed by Vision Properties.  The vacant land on the ocean side of Plantation Hale is owned by Coconut Beach Development, LLC who has been embroiled for years in legal disputes over plans to build a resort on the property, one containing hotel, condo, & timeshare units.  Should this move forward, the view from Plantation Hale will be quite different from today.  On the Northeast side adjacent to Plantation Hale and currently a vacant parcel with coconut trees, Longs Drugs is seeking county approval to build a new store as of August 2013.
