Koloa Landing at Poipu Beach is a luxurious condominium complex on the ocean side of Poipu Road on Kauai's south shore.  It's one of Kauai's few development projects that continued during the massive economic downturn of 2008.  Perhaps that continuation was due to the rumored backing by the famed Warren Buffett.  Original plans were to build the project in multiple phases and when complete to have 19 four story residential buildings with 323 units.  Some modifications were made to that plan as required by the housing market collapse.  Phase I included Building 1, West Wing 2, 3, 6, and 9 comprising 85 units plus a lagoon pool plus an adult pool.  It was opened to the public on Tuesday, November 30, 2010. 

Each unit has a fully-equipped kitchen, living area, lanai, and 2, 3, or 4 bedrooms.  Interior size ranges are in the 1,000 to 3,000 square foot range (approximate).  Units are fully furnished and are air conditioned.  Upper levels are served by semi private elevators.  Published plans called for 4 lagoon style pools, hot tubs, water slide, pool side bar & grill, fitness center, day spa, sundry shop, and a 24 hour front desk.  Concierge service is also be available.

 The author has enjoyed multiple opportunities to visit delightful friends who own in this complex, a project which has set a new standard of luxury for the Poipu area.
