Halelani Village at Puhi

Video (default) | Google Earth | Google Street View

Halelani Village is a 2-story condominium project on the outskirts of Lihue in an area known as Puhi. The project was built in 1993 and consists of 292 units in 28 buildings in an area bordered by Puhi Rd and Hanalima St .  There are a few units with 1 bedroom, 272 units with 2 bedrooms, and 16 units with 3 bedrooms; median living area of 750 square feet ranges from 553 to 980 square feet.  There is a mix of owner-occupied and long-term rentals.  Short-term rentals are not allowed.  Pets are currently allowed with some restrictions; ground floor units with fenced yards are ideal for dog owners.  The project is very similar in size and appearance to Iao Parkside in Wailuku on the island of Maui.

A Halelani Village map provides a convenient reference for building locations and relative size.  A more detailed Halelani Village Map shows unit numbers (large file size & a little messy but readable).  Location is a key criteria for those preferring not to be located adjacent to a busy street.  Ease of access is another criteria but that cannot readily be determined by the map.  Ask for information if steps are an issue for you.

Richard Dolbeare is the owner of a 2 bedroom condo in Halelani Village that he purchased in 2002. By 2020 it had increased in value nearly 3-fold.

The following Maui condominium properties are similar to Halelani Village:  Kihei Villages, Keonekai Villages, Kihei Shores, Southpointe at Waiakoa, & Kihei Villages, Keonekai Villages, Kihei Shores, Southpointe at Waiakoa & Villas at Kenolio all in Kihei and Iao Parkside in Wailuku.  Villas at Kenolio are a little more upscale than the others.
