Pikake sign Pikake is a new community in Lihue created in 2005 by Grove Farms.  It features 180 lots with many new homes already constructed.  The Kauai real estate market was booming at the time and Grove Farms implemented a 2-3 year "shared appreciation plan" intended to discourage real estate speculation.

It's location is just across the street from Home Depot and Costco and only a block away from the Kukui Grove Shopping Center.  For privacy, safety, and noise reduction, Grove Farms installed a wall along Nuhou Street featuring unique mosaic artwork panels.  A map of the community shows how the homes are intermixed with the Puakea Golf Course.

Pikake Design Criteria and Standards are rigorous and require approval of the Design Review Committee.  Standards are guided by three principles, 1) sensitivity to the land, 2) response to the climate, and 3) balancing individual expression and a sense of community.  Minimum square footage of the home is 1400 sq. ft. plus a 2-car garage.
