Ho'oluana at Kohea Loa in Lihue

Ho'oluana at Kohea Loa is a new project on the Eastern side of Lihue started in 2017.  Back then it was in the planning stages.  What a difference as 2018 nears the end of the year.  A tour of the community shows many single family and duplex homes already built with occupants in some.  This community is unique in that it is a mix of detached single family homes and duplex condominiums.  With few exceptions, the duplex condominium units are classified as affordable housing while the single family homes are not. All are geared toward Kauai residents who have first priority.  The approximate price range as of early 2018 was $450,000 to $600,000.  Prices of 6 active listings near the end of 2018 ranged from $440,000 (a duplex) to $642,663 (a detached single family home).  As of January 2022, prices are approaching the million-dollar mark.

A community site map and floor plans are NO LONGER AVAILABLE at the DR Horton Hooluana site; contact Richard for this info.  Note that many (but not all) have shared driveways.  Initial demand was reported to be strong with lotteries held to prioritize buyers.  Demand is reportedly more balanced since the initial releases.  Resale prices are approaching $1M as of January 2022.
